Solar-Powered Outdoor Wii Solarwii1

To combat the whole “least energy efficient” label it’s recently been slapped with, Tom’s Hardware Guide has tricked out the Nintendo Wii with an enviro-friendly solar sucker.

Of course, for solar-powered anythings to be effective, they need to get some sun. The simple solution then is to just throw this bad boy on wheels.

There’s a pretty picture of it to the right, which you can click to enlarge if you just can’t quite get a close enough look at it.

What we have here is essentially some slabs of wood, fused together with intense awesomeness to house a Nintendo Wii, a flatscreen monitor, a battery, and a solar panel (along with various tools of scientific wizardry). The end result is the… well, they just call it the Solar-Powered Wii. I would’ve called it something like “The Solar Wii-Roller,” but I guess different people are creative in different ways.

You can head over to Tom’s Games and check out the full story, including a price guide and do-it-yourself instructions.
